Contest Entry - WIP

Name: Tamias Edison, PhD
Species: Chipmunk
Role: Scientist (Mad or Friendly)

Character Concept: Dr. Edison is, first and foremost, a scientist. He has PhDs in most of the physical sciences (such as physics, geology, astronomy, etc.) a well as several Engineering degrees. He is obsessed with doing science and research for the sake of doing science and research. His likes include pretty much anything regarding science, research and discovery.
As a character, Dr. Edison is an amoral scientist in that it is not that he doesn't understand the differences between good and evil - he just doesn't care.

The idea is he could be whom the heroes are trying to stop (he is making a super weapon, has unleashed a terrible robotic terror or his research is scaring the neighbors) just as readily and easily as he could be the one the heroes go to for help when they need a scientific genius (there is a super weapon being deployed, a terrible robotic monster rampaging or something else). Alternatively, he could be a source of comedy relief in that one of his experiments and/or gadgets didn't work out right and hilarity has ensued. This makes the character useful for pretty much any situation that the story requires a scientist.

Inspiration: Thinking about the character a bit, I see him as having a few parts of Gyro Gearloose (Ducktales), Megavolt (Darkwing Duck), and the absent minded professor all rolled into one. He isn't evil, cruel or malicious...he just wants to do science and sometimes folks don't want to let him do his science, or his science goes a little awry.
