Hot-Blooded Pinkie vs. Great and Powerful Trixie by AnimeFreak40K Hot-Blooded Pinkie vs. Great and Powerful Trixie by AnimeFreak40K
Hot-Blooded Pinkie Pie vs. The Great and Powerful Trixie!!!

This is a colored version of a previously posted image. Primarily inked and colored in Paint Tool SAI with some effects and such done in Photoshop. I tried to go for some really cool shading effects and whatnot, but I was just getting stupidly frustrated with the whole thing so I just said fuck this and ignored any real pretense for shading.

Anyway, UC77ís Hot-Blooded Pinkie Pie facing off against The Great and Powerful Trixie.

Why? Who knows.

Maybe Trixie, after stupid amounts of Super Saiyan training decided to take on the most powerful pony ever to have lived before paying Twilight Sparkle a visit.

Perhaps Hot-Blooded Pinkie sensing a pony sufficiently powerful enough to be a challenge decided to test herself by facing off against a real opponent who could actually put up a fight.

Pinkie Pie:
"Fight like big mare!"
"Let us wrestle, little mare!"
"Fight me!"
"Come; we fight like mare."
"Let us fight; mare versus tiny baby mare."

You've got really good energy in this picture, and I'm not referring to the powers being used. The characters body language and expressions really help sell this one. It would have been cool though to see more dynamic lighting on the two here like you did on the rocks. I understand it is in replicating the style of the show, but I think it would help to make them feel more integrated with the background. I also think Trixe's magic needs to be slightly beefed up to give it more attention as I didn't initially notice it until a third glance of the image.

Granted these are just my thoughts so take them as you will...

Thanks man.

I had tried to go for some lighting effects and I just started getting frustrated with it to the point that I said “You know what? Fuck this. No shading or lighting! It’s done!”. I honestly think that if I didn’t it would have been left unfinished and left on the hardrive…possibly even deleted.

*rueful mutter* I will find you… you lighting and shading secrets… you cannot hide from me forever… I. *WILL*. FIND. YOU!!! ...and then I will make you my prison... ...bitch...

The effects for Trixie‘s magic was intended to replicate some anime-esque beam effects where the energy light thingys are pulled into a super-small tight point before unleashing a six mile wide wave of doom. I Thinking about it, I would have been better off making the BG darker… oh well. Live and learn.

Thanks for the feedback.
