Description

Recently the gaming group for Shadows Angelus was discussing characters, images and all that stuff on our mesageboard. During this conversation, the Webmaster for the site, [link] , asked me to draw the characters. Many of them already have pictures, but he seemed to want my versions as well.

When the person who plays Nathan Carpenter presented his ideas to the GM for Shadows Angelus, he was not exaclty sure what or how to think. For you see, the game itself is basically following Super-Cops fighting Lovecraftian monsters. How is a guy with a sword going to fit into that?

Turns out that Nathan Carpenter is more fitting than initally thought, for he is a modern-day (well, in this game futuristic) Paladin. He is religiously devout and he is dedicated to doing whatever he can to push back the darkness at whatever the cost. To aid him in this quest is an ancient relic, a very simple longsword known quite simply as the Spatha Sancta (Latin for Holy Sword. Yes, it is that old that the name is that simple).

The weapon itself is almost useless against the modern opponent, but against Entities...well... he has more Entity kills under his belt than everyone else in the group combined! Don't get me wrong, we all pull our load, but it is usually Nathan with his mighty sword of kickassery niftyness that lands the final blow.

Like several other characters in the campaign, Nathan does not come from Angelus. He is actually from North America and was gifted with the Spatha Sancta well before he came to Angelus. Only recently has his quest to fight the darkness actually brought him to the massive artificial island, where he quickly joined XSWAT to take the fight to the Entities plauging the world.
