Blue Steel Special MKII

so my roommate runs a game called Shadows Angelus (yes, this IS the same name of my Space Marine Chapter. and yes, he asked me for its use first), using the Hero System. for those that may not be familiar with the Hero System, it is basically a Generic RPG system whos purpose is to play Superhero type characters kinda like Spiderman, Superman, Batman, etc. however, the neatness of this system is that it is generic, you can create whatever you want really. so my roommate created a his own little world that draws a lot of inspiration from several different Anime series: Silent Mobieus, Bubblegum Crisis, Dominion Tank Police, and others. if any of you actually care to find out more information about this game and what this whole thing is about, please feel free to head to this website: [link] it is a constant work in progress, and was created by one of the players in the campaign.

this is the Blue Steel Special MKII (the MKI was dismantled and redesigned a long time ago), a highly experimental and prototypical suit of armor that X.S.W.A.T. uses. well, not really. there is only one Blue Steel Special on the force. X.S.W.A.T. has its own supply of power armors (well, these are more like the Landmates that Masemune Shirow has in Appleseed), but none are as advanced as the Blue Steel Special. in fact, the Blue Steel pushes the borderline between a civilian unit and what is considered military. this is a major issue politically, because the situation that exusts with Angelus is such that they are not permitted to have a standing military of any sort. any problems are to be dealt with by the Police. this is where X.S.W.A.T. comes in. anything that the normal police and S.W.A.T. teams cant handle (Entities, Combat Cyborgs, Magic, ESPers, etc.), X.S.W.A.T. takes care of.
part of the problem with this situation, is that because Angelus cant have a military of any sort X.S.W.A.T. has to deal with problems that can only be handled by an actual military, or at least those that have military grade equipment. as the criminal element begins realize that they have access to hardware that the law enforcement cannot have (under any circumstances), they only become more brazen, arrogent and dangerous. the Blue Steel Program is an effort to change this. should the program take off, it could go a long way in defending the city of Angelus from many different problems.
