Standard XSWAT Mecha: XM-88

so my roommate runs a game called Shadows Angelus (yes, this IS the same name of my Space Marine Chapter. and yes, he asked me for its use first), using the Hero System. for those that may not be familiar with the Hero System, it is basically a Generic RPG system whos purpose is to play Superhero type characters kinda like Spiderman, Superman, Batman, etc. however, the neatness of this system is that it is generic, you can create whatever you want really. so my roommate created a his own little world that draws a lot of inspiration from several different Anime series: Silent Mobieus, Bubblegum Crisis, Dominion Tank Police, and others. if any of you actually care to find out more information about this game and what this whole thing is about, please feel free to head to this website: [link] it is a constant work in progress, and was created by one of the players in the campaign.

this particular bit of hardware is the XM-88. it is the standard issue Power Armor/Mecha that is in use by X.S.W.A.T. in its duties. there are very few Mecha that exist in the world that are NOT military and are as reliable and useful as this one. those that are better are either Military units (which are illegal and not able to be used in Angelus. period.), or are Civilian units that have been customized and converted. this is usually done by mercenaries or other paramilitary organizations.

as far as weaponry is concerned, the XM-88 carries a torso mounted Maser that is the equivilent in damage to the standard C-60 sidearm that X.S.W.A.T. officers carry. the difference is that it has only one setting (high/creature) and it has infinite shots. hand-carried is a heavy-duty shot-cannon. its magazine carries 60 shells of sensitive memory-plastics that are programmable and malliable. before a round is fired, it is programmed with what type of round it will be. with a flip of a switch in the pilots compartment, the round can be any of the following: Solid Slug (big frikkin bullet), Electric (it wont kill you, but it will make you wish you were dead), Gel-Round (trap targets in a big wad of goo), Flechettes (bee-hives anyone?), Slammers (lots of impact/knockback), Riot Gas (...mmm....gas)

it is an overall good suit of power armor...though it is nowhere near as good as the Blue Steel series of Power Armor....but that is boarderlining on being illegal in Angelus as it is...so...yeah.
